Amanda + Jorge's Wedding

Destination weddings are always so dreamy. This Wedding Wednesday we’re headed south of the border for an incredibly artistic celebration. Amanda and Jorge planned their wedding from Canada but chose to throw an unforgettable party at the Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The couple wanted to infuse their history into a mutual love of art for a personal, special day, photographed by Take It Photo.

This artistic pair designed everything from the invitations to the programs to the favors. Amanda, a professional artist, hand painted all the designs. Jorge designed the cake and helped design the centerpieces. Talk about a powerhouse team. After the traditional Catholic ceremony, Amanda and Jorge danced down the streets with a mariachi band and their guests, passing out tequila. Even bystanders and restaurateurs were drawn into the fiesta and joined the parade, dancing their way to El Taj Ocean Front and Beachside for the reception.

Amanda’s strapless Allure Couture gown held its own, and she looked truly glamorous set against the ocean backdrop. At the night’s end, the couple provided their guests two piñatas—each filled with Mexican and Canadian candy to represent both cultures. So many special details came together to make Amanda and Jorge’s both deeply personal and as vibrant as they are.
